14 Health Workers At AR Rahmah Hospital In Tangerang Also Affected By Hamiak Gas Leaks At The Ice Batu Factory

TANGERANG - In addition to thousands of residents, there are 14 health workers (nakes) at Ar-Rahmah Hospital who are also victims of ammonia gas leaks at a stone ice processing plant in Koang Jaya, Karawaci, Tangerang City.

"There are about 14 workers at Ar Rahmah Hospital who were also affected," said Ar Rahman Hospital President Director Ilhami Elfajri to reporters, Tuesday, February 6.

Ilhami explained that at the time of the incident the health workers were sleeping in the boarding houses which were located around the hospital and the ice cube factory.

"Of that number, some are working and others are sleeping in the boarding house around the hospital," he said.

As a result of the incident, the victims of health workers had difficulty breathing until the eyes were sore. They are immediately treated medically.

"Their symptoms, sore eyes, difficulty breathing due to poisoning," said Ilhami.

For information, the leak of ammonia gas has been smelled by residents since 02.30 WIB and has forced thousands of residents to be evacuated to safer places.

The evacuation itself was carried out by residents and BPBD Tangerang City at 03.00-07.00 WIB.

"About 1,500 residents were evacuated to Taman Nobar. Because the location of this ice stone factory is close to residential areas so that residents experience shortness of breath," he said.
