Aceh Ulama Issues Tausiah Criteria For Leaders Ahead Of The 2024 Election

BANDA ACEH - Aceh's Ulema Consultative Council (MPU) published a tausiah about the criteria for leaders who should be elected according to Islamic law ahead of the 2024 General Election for

the selection of candidates for legislative members and the selection of pairs of vice presidential and vice presidential candidates.

Aceh MPU chairman Tgk Faisal Ali said the tausiah was issued ahead of the 2024 election vote to invite the Acehnese to exercise their voting rights.

"The purpose of issuing this tausiah is for the people of Aceh to exercise their voting rights in the 2024 General Election by visiting the polling stations on February 14, 2024," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 5.

The criteria for leaders who are elected according to Islamic law, he said, are faith and piety in Allah SWT. Has a fair, honest (shiddiq) and is trusted or trustworthy nature.

"Then, have authority and become an example and aspiration or tabligh, and choose a clear and useful vision and mission and fight for the interests of the people or fathers," said Tgk H Faisal Ali who is familiarly called Lem Faisal.

In addition to the criteria for choosing a leader, the tausiah is also addressed to election organizers, namely the Independent Election Commission (KIP) and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) or on behalf of the Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslih) in Aceh Province.

To the state institution that organizes the election, the Aceh MPU in the tausiah reminded to carry out general elections honestly, fairly, and responsibly.

"We invite the public not to abstain. Use the right to vote according to conscience. Avoid the practice of money politics because it violates the rules. And most importantly, keep unity and integrity as well as peace and and ukhuwah Islamiyah in Aceh Province," said Tgk H Faisal Ali.
