Head of the Conservation Section I of the West Sumatra BKSDA Antoni Vevri accompanied by the Head of the Conservation Resort Region I of the West Sumatra BKSDA Ade Putra in Lubuk Attitude, Sunday, said the Sumatran tiger entered a trap cage around a pingan garden belonging to residents at around 05.43 WIB.

He said the tiger, which often appears in Tigo Nagari District, Pasaman, was immediately evacuated by the West Sumatra BKSDA team.

The tiger evacuation used a transport cage and was planned to be taken to the Sumatran Dharmasraya Tiger Rehabilitation Center (PHRSD) owned by the Arsari Djojohadikusumo Foundation.

Residents also came to see closely the tiger trapped in the cage.

He admitted that the handling of animal-human conflicts has been carried out since January 2, 2024, after the cattle were eaten by protected animals, Law Number 5 of 1990 concerning Conservation of Biological Natural Resources and Their Ecosystems.

The West Sumatra BKSDA installed three trap cages and set every trap cage with camera traps to monitor the presence of the animal, in addition to using a thermal drone at night and during the day.

"We handled the conflict for one month and many reports from residents during the handling. We managed to save the animals and secure local residents," he said.
