A Rohingya Immigrant Woman In East Aceh Is 6 Months Pregnant

JAKARTA - A Rohingya immigrant woman who just landed with 136 other people in Kuala Parek, Sungai Raya District, East Aceh Regency, is known to be pregnant.

Head of the Sungai Raya Health Center, Dewi Suryati, in East Aceh, Friday, February 2, said the Rohingya immigrant woman was found to be pregnant after a health check. The pregnant Rohingya immigrant woman named Zufaida, 25 years old.

"The results of the examination showed that Zufaida was pregnant with her pregnancy age of between five and six months. During the examination, the woman was in a weak condition. Maybe because she was tired on the cruise," said Dewi Suryati, quoted from Antara.

In addition to the pregnant woman, Sungai Raya Health Center officers also examined 136 other Rohingya immigrants. From the results of the examination, as many as 122 immigrants experienced complaints of fever, dizziness, cough, and itching.

"So, from the results of the temporary medical examination, no one is sick and needs treatment. They just need to rest and take medicine," said Dewi Suryati.

Meanwhile, the village head of Kuala Parek Syahrial Abdullah said that currently the 137 Rohingya immigrants are still in Kuala Parek. Their transfer is waiting for the results of decisions from various related parties.

"However, if no decision has been made, then we will return them to the ship and continue their journey to where they are going. Later, we will provide logistics and fuel oil for them to sail," said Syahrial Abdullah.

Previously, as many as 137 Rohingya immigrants landed at Kuala Parek Beach, Thursday (1/2) at around 04.00 WIB. The hundreds of Rohingya immigrants consisted of 40 adult men, 47 adult women, 23 girls, and 27 boys.

The immigrants landed after their motorboat was damaged by the engine. Previously, their motorboat was adrift in the waters of the Malacca Strait and carried by the current until it landed on the coast in East Aceh Regency.
