Prabowo Emphasizes The Role Of Initiatives And Innovations In Encouraging Economic Growth

JAKARTA - Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto expressed his readiness to support the development of the business world in order to encourage Indonesia's economic growth in a better direction in the future. Prabowo conveyed the importance of the role of leaders and the government to maintain the stability of the country as well as provide opportunities for entrepreneurs to develop, which in the end will contribute to a strong economy, increase in employment, and community welfare.

"I study history, I understand the duties of leaders, the task of the government. The task of state leaders is to protect the country and provide entrepreneurs with opportunities to develop so that the economy is good, the economy develops, jobs exist, people live well," Prabowo said in his remarks at the celebration of welcoming the New Year of Chinese New Year. With his historical background and experience as a soldier and entrepreneur, Prabowo emphasized his understanding of the leader's responsibility to create an environment that supports economic growth.

He acknowledged the difficulties faced by entrepreneurs and underlined the need for a working atmosphere that supports, legal certainty, and minimal disruption in business operations.

Prabowo expressed his determination to stimulate economic development as a whole, by understanding the struggles of fellow citizens.

"All economies will develop, that's my goal, that's my determination. I understand the difficulty of brothers and sisters because after I became a soldier, I also became an entrepreneur," said Prabowo.

Prabowo realized that the needs of entrepreneurs for a conducive workspace, legal certainty, and an uninterrupted atmosphere must be realized. He also observed the inconvenience to taxes that were too high among entrepreneurs.

With a counter-intuitive approach, Prabowo encourages a reduction in tax rates because according to him that in some economic situations, lower tax burdens can stimulate extraordinary economic activity.

"Our brothers and sisters will expand later, we will add those who pay taxes, those who are diligent in paying taxes don't have to be (perturbed) anymore. This is called counter-intuitive, in the sense that in actual economic conditions, if we study, sometimes low taxes cause extraordinary economic activities," Prabowo said.

He emphasized the role of initiative and innovation in encouraging economic growth. Prabowo also believes that the developing economy will generate an increase in tax revenue, which will ultimately support Indonesia's overall finances.
