JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate number three, Ganjar Pranowo welcomed Basuki Tjahja Purnama or Ahok's steps to step down as Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) to campaign. He hopes that the decline of PDIP cadres can be a new spirit for pair number three.

"Thank you for the support and additional energy Mas BTP," he wrote via his X account, @ganjarpranowo quoted on Friday, February 2.

Meanwhile, Ahok through his Instagram account, @basuki.btp has announced his resignation as President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero). He chose to focus on winning candidate pair Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD in the 2024 presidential election.

He said he had sent his resignation letter to the Ministry of SOEs on Friday, February 2.

"This upload is proof of the receipt of my Resignation Letter as the President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) which I submitted today, February 2, 2024," Ahok wrote on his official Instagram account @basuki.btp, quoted Friday, February 2.

Ahok admitted that this decision was taken so that he would not be confused in determining his political direction. He wants to focus on supporting Ganjar-Mahfud.

"With this, I declare that I support and will participate in campaigning for presidential candidates Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD. This is so that there is no more confusion regarding my political direction. Freedom! Independence! Independence!," wrote Ahok.
