Yusril Responds To News Of Himself Replacing Mahfud MD

BELITUNG - Constitutional Law expert Yusril Ihza Mahendra gave a response about the news that stated that he would replace Mahfud MD as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.

"Until now I don't know about that," he said in Tanjung Pandan, Belitung, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, February 2.

This was conveyed by Yusril after attending a gathering and discussion with the Acting Regent of Belitung, Yusbian and the ranks of the Head of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) within the Belitung Regency Government in order to improve the quality of local government services.

He admitted that until now he did not know anything about himself who was said to be replacing Mahfud MD as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.

"I just heard the news that I don't know further," he said.

Yusril did not deny that at the time of the cabinet reshuffle, his name was always mentioned.

"Every reshufflekabinet is always said that Yusril will be like this and that, but the reality is nothing," he said.

Yusril said that until today there has been no communication with President Jokowi regarding the news that he will replace Mahfud MD.

"Nothing yet, we are waiting for further developments," he said.

Previously, Mahfud MD resigned from his position as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs. Two names were mentioned to replace the figure of Mahfud MD as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, namely Yusril Ihza Mahendra and Jimly Asshiddiqie.
