UII Asks Jokowi To Be Neutral, Become An Example Of State Ethicals

JAKARTA - Civitas AcademicaUversitas Islam Indonesia (UII) Yogyakarta asked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to remain an example in the practice of statesmanship.

"We urge President Joko Widodo to return to being an example in the ethics and practice of statesmanship," said a statement by Civitas Academica UII Yogyakarta as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 1.

According to the statement signed by the Chancellor of UII Yogyakarta Prof. Fathul Wahid, President Jokowi should be neutral, fair, and a leader for all groups and groups.

Civitas academica UII juga meminta Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR) dan Dewan Perwakilan Daerah (DPD) aktif mengawasi, memastikan pemerintahan berjalan sesuai koridor konstitusi dan hukum.

On the other hand, presidential candidates, vice presidential candidates, ministers and regional heads who are successful teams as well as campaign teams for one of the candidate pairs are also asked to resign from their positions.

"In order to avoid conflicts of interest that have the potential to harm the nation and state," said the reason presented in the statement of the attitude.

UII Yogyakarta invites the Indonesian people to be involved in ensuring that the general election runs honestly, fairly, and safely for the realization of a government that has strong legitimacy based on respect for the voice of the people.

Finally, UII asked all elements of the nation to take care of the ideals of independence by fighting for the realization of a healthy democratic climate.
