Jakarta Beware Of Heavy Rain Until February 1

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Province has the potential to experience moderate to heavy rain as of Thursday, January 1 based on the predictions of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

"The results of the latest analysis identified the potential for an increase in moderate to heavy intensity rainfall on January 29-01 February 2024 in the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji in his statement, Tuesday, January 30.

Isnawa said that the potential for extreme weather in Jakarta for the next three days was triggered by Asian Monsun activities accompanied by the potential for chills.

This, said Isnawa, affects the increase in the wet air mass in the western and southern parts of Indonesia, the equator.

In addition, the active waves of Rossby and Kelvin equators around the central part of Indonesia also triggered the formation of rain clouds.

"The wave also triggered the formation of a bend pattern and a wind confluence that extends south of the equator as a result of the strengthening of the Asian monsoon wind," explained Isnawa.
