A tornado swept 19 houses in Sukabumi, West Java on Saturday, January 27 afternoon. The roof of the building flew, even one house leveled to the ground.
The incident occurred in two urban villages, namely Limusnunggal Village and Cibeureum Hilir Village in Cibeureum District, Sukabumi City. There were 36 houses that were damaged, eight of which were severely damaged.
The affected resident named Nunung Sobariah (48) said that at the time of the incident, the wind had rotated for 20 minutes, then climbed up and flew the roofs of the house.
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi City recorded a tornado that occurred in Cibitung Village, Sukabumi City, West Java, destroying dozens of houses on Saturday night.
"The tornado that occurred in RW 02, Cibeureumhilir Village, Cibeureum District damaged 19 houses," said Sukabumi City BPBD Chief Executive Novian Rahmat.
