Vice President: Deactivation Of PBNU Functionaries Who Become Timses Consequences Of Organizational Rules

SEMARANG - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin who is also Mustasyar, the Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) assessed the deactivation of a number of community organization functions because it was indeed a consequence of organizational regulations.

"Indeed, the rules at NU, if someone is directly involved, it must be deactivated, that is a consequence, and that is actually up to the completion of election matters," said Ma'ruf during a visit in Semarang, reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 26.

According to Ma'ruf Amin, the deactivation of a number of functionalists who are involved in the general election contestation does not need to be questioned because it is an organizational regulation.

Moreover, said the vice president, people who are directly involved in the contestation of the democratic party will definitely be busy with the hustle and bustle of practical political activities so that they become less focused on organizational interests.

"So, I don't think it's a problem. Even though he's not deactivated, he's busy. Incidentally there are rules like that," he said.

"To focus, so that if someone is active as a contestant, what becomes, what becomes, everything is deactivated until it is finished. I don't think it will have any impact," said Ma'ruf.

Previously, PBNU deactivated Erick Thohir from the position of Chair of the PBNU Institute for Research and Human Resources Development (Lakpesdam) along with at least 64 functionary names from the ranks of the Daily Executive and Plenary Executives of PBNU based on Decree Number 285/PB.01/AI.II.01.08/99/01/2024.

The deactivation of the PBNU functionaries is calculated from the date of determination by the competent institution until the completion of the 2024 General Election process.

"The majority of names have applied for leave or are inactive since the KPU was appointed. This Decree is an affirmation from PBNU for their inactive application," said PBNU Deputy Chairperson H Amin Said Husni.

All of these functions are names that are officially listed as legislative candidates and successful teams for presidential and vice presidential candidates.
