Once A Member Of Political Parties, Bawaslu Members In Lembata NTT Fired By DKPP

NTT - The Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) has imposed a permanent dismissal sanction on Fransiskus Xaverius Pole, a member of Bawaslu Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Chairman of the DKPP Council, Ratna Dewi Pettalolo, said Fransiskus was dismissed because he was proven to have violated the Election Organizer Code of Ethics (KEPP) case Number 132-PKE-DKPP/XI/2013.

"Imposing a permanent dismissal sanction to the defendant Fransiskus Xaverius Pole as a member of the Lembata Regency Bawaslu since this decision was read out," he said in an official statement, Friday, January 26, which was confiscated by Antara.

Sanctions were given after Fransiskus as the defendant was proven to have been the administrator of the DPAC PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Subdistrict, Lembata Regency with a period of 2019-2024 service.

In addition, within 2020-2022, several times they have joined the activities of political parties (political parties), complete with the use of party attributes.

The defendant was proven to have violated Article 117 paragraph 1 letter I of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections.

Fransiskus also violated Article 6 paragraphs 2 letters a and d, Article 7 paragraph 3, and Article 9 of the DKPP Regulation Number 2 of 2017 concerning the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct for Election Organizers.

"The defendant's argument stating that he was not aware of the activities attended was that the party's activities did not convince the assembly," added Member of the Council I Dewa Kade Wiarsa Raka Sandi.

During the trial, DKPP read out the verdict for four cases of alleged KEPP violations involving 13 defendants.

Two other defendants from the KPU Sabu Raijua, NTT and Bawaslu Sabu Raijua were restored because they were not proven to have violated the KEPP.
