Ganjar Uploads Jokowi's Directives To Regional Heads To Be Neutral, Reminds The Great Risk Of Democracy If The President Campaigns

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate Ganjar Pranowo invites President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and ministers to take sides and participate in the campaign in the 2024 presidential election.

"Yes, go ahead because he has conveyed that," said Ganjar at the Golo Dukal Stadium, Langke Rembong, Manggarai, NTT, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 26.

According to Ganjar, there are no rules that prohibit the president from campaigning. However, he said, this attitude took a big risk in democracy.

"Regulations do not violate, only when the situation may be a bit different, all will compare when we are in the governor's briefing, all regional heads must be neutral," he explained.

"However, this condition will pose a big risk to democratization and current democracy," he continued.

Previously, President Jokowi said that the president and minister had democratic and political rights that allowed them to participate in the election campaign as long as they did not use state facilities.

Jokowi said this when responding to a number of ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet who entered as a successful team to support the 2024 presidential election participants.
