Airlangga Says The President Doesn't Need To Leave When Campaigning

PALEMBANG - Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto said the president did not need to apply for leave if he wanted to campaign.

Airlangga conveyed this in response to President Joko Widodo's statement that the president could campaign as long as he did not use state facilities.

"The president is the head of state. So, the head of state does not have his leave," said Airlangga in Palembang as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 26.

According to him, every citizen has constitutional rights, including the president. Therefore, the president's support for one of the political parties (political parties) is not something new.

Meanwhile, Airlangga set a target of 55 percent of the votes in Southern Sumatra (Sumbagsel) for Prabowo-Gibran.

"We set a target of winning votes above 55 percent in South Sumatra to win Prabowo-Gibran. So, we ask the chairman in this area to continue to move to win the presidential, legislative and regional elections in 2024," he said.
