TPN Ganjar-Mahfud Alludes To The Issue Of Jokowi's Impeachment, TKN: Indeed Their Intention

JAKARTA - Member of the TKN Expert Council Prabowo-Gibran, Budiman Sudjatmiko, responded to the issue of the impeachment of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) which was raised by TPN Ganjar-Mahfud.

According to Budiman, TPN's intention to overthrow the Jokowi government was only to support candidate pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"Please think like that. Before Jokowi spoke, the issue of impeachment was also widely said, so Mr. Jokowi spoke or did not speak, I think their intention was indeed to impeach," said Budiman in Kertanegara, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Friday, January 26.

Budiman then gave an example, there were parties who wanted to break up the party because they couldn't get a ticket.

"Right now, who has an interest in disbanding a party? Those who are not invited to the party or those who can't win war tickets from the party? Maybe this person who is already sure will be able to win a war ticket to become president to be sworn in in in October," said Budiman.

The former PDIP politician also likened the party who wanted to impeach Jokowi to a small child who was fighting over a kite. Because they couldn't, said Budiman, the little boy was angry and tore up the kite they couldn't fight for.

"I don't know if I've ever fought for kite playing when I was little? I like to fight over kites. If the kite breaks, I like to tear the kite, which is not," he said.

"I think people think impeachment, I think they are still in the stage of children tearing up broken kites they cannot fight over," said Budiman.

Previously, the Deputy for Law for the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar-Mahfud Todung Mulya Lubis emphasized that President Joko Widodo's alignment with one of the presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election could trigger impeachment.

In Article 7A of the 1945 Constitution, it is stated that impeachment can be submitted if the president is proven to have violated the law in the form of betrayal of the state, corruption, bribery, and other serious crimes.

This was in response to Jokowi's statement that the president and minister could campaign and take sides. Todung said that Jokowi's jokes in the election did not rule out the possibility of committing a disgraceful act that violated the constitutional mandate.

"If the president does not carry out his duties, in accordance with applicable legal provisions, then this could be interpreted as a disgraceful act. And if this is concluded as a disgraceful act, then this can be used as an excuse for impeachment," said Todung at the Media Center TPN Ganjar-Mahfud, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 25.
