TPN Regarding Jokowi's Chance To Meet Megawati: Happened After Ganjar Won

JAKARTA - Deputy for Politics 5.0 of the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN), Andi Widjajanto, talked about President Joko Widodo's opportunity to meet with PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri at this time.

Andi said the meeting could have been realized. However, he emphasized, Megawati would meet Jokowi if the presidential and vice-presidential candidates number 3, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD won the 2024 presidential election.

"So the meeting between Mr. Jokowo and Mrs. Mega will definitely be held after Mas Ganjar won. But before that, we have to focus on winning February 14, 2024," said Andi at the Media Center TPN Ganjar-Mahfud, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 25.

For now, continued Andi, Megawati only instructed her party and also TPN to focus on winning Mahfud-Ganjar until voting day.

"Mrs. Mega's message to us is clear, the focus is on winning the February 14, 2024 election. Don't be distracted by other things," he explained.

Later, news emerged that President Jokowi asked to meet Megawati. This meeting was crowded after the relationship between the two reportedly stretched after Gibran Rakabuming Raka ran with Prabowo Subianto.

Meanwhile, Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana said it was not true that President Jokowi's request met with Megawati. He denied the news circulating.

"Regarding the narrative developed as if there was a request from the President to meet (Megawati) let alone be related to the 2024 General Election, that is absolutely not true," said Ari Dwipayana in a statement to reporters in Jakarta, Monday.

Ari also said PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto also stated the same thing. "It is not true that there was a request for a meeting," he concluded.
