JABAR - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) activated 239 refugee posts from Batulihir Village in Sekarwangi Village, Cibadak District, Sukabumi, in danger of being affected by landslides.

Secretary of the Sukabumi Regency BPBD Yudistira revealed that landslides in settlements in Batulilir Village, on Wednesday, January 24, had affected 15 heads of families (KK) or 51 people, with 12 housing units severely damaged.

Based on the results of temporary observations of the joint team at the location, the landslide that occurred was caused by extreme weather and the accumulation of water deposits in the area.

Landslides also still have the potential to occur, this has made BPBD evacuate 75 other families who are threatened with moving to refugee camps starting today.

"For residents whose houses are damaged, it is recorded that there are still 12 houses affected. However, 62 houses or 75 families or 239 people are threatened with further landslides, so starting today we will move them to evacuation tents that have been prepared by BPBD. It should have been yesterday, but because they are still traumatized they are staying in the vicinity of the existing prayer room," said Yudistira, Thursday, January 25, confiscated by Antara.

In addition to refugee tents, he continued, the Sukabumi Regency BPBD has made a public kitchen to meet the food needs of the residents.

"Today we have also prepared two public kitchens that stand by to distribute food and another public kitchen from the Social Service," he added.

Meanwhile, Yudistria explained, in addition to evacuating residents and activating evacuation, currently the joint team is starting to clean up drainage covered by avalanche materials and monitor ground movement to prevent further landslides from occurring.

"If there is a ground movement, we can stop it, so there is a monitoring team and there is a cleaning (material). We have also coordinated with PVMBG (Villencing Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation) to conduct a study of the location of the landslide incident in the Batuliir area to find out whether this area entered a safe or dangerous zone and what the follow-up was, because previously there had been no landslide like this," said Yudistira.
