The Mataram Police, West Nusa Tenggara, has named a legislative candidate with the initials NKS as a suspect in an election crime case (tipilu) for allegedly distributing a photo sticker of himself as a contestation for the 2024 election and rice to the public. "So, from the results of our investigation of the NKS on Wednesday, we officially determined the person concerned as a typical suspect," said Head of the Mataram Police Satreskrim Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama in Mataram, Antara, Thursday, January 25. The determination of NKS as a suspect for allegedly violating Article 523 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 280 paragraph (1) letter J of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning elections. Investigators will continue to the file transfer stage. "Just today we have transferred the file to the prosecutor for investigation. So, the position is now just waiting for the results of the prosecutor's research," he said. If there are additional instructions from the prosecutor's research results, Yogi ensures that his party will immediately complete the file and transfer it back to the prosecutor. "If it has been declared complete, we will continue to transfer the suspect and evidence," he said.

Investigators still have five working days in the future in investigating the NKS case. In accordance with Law Number 7 of 2017, investigators have 14 days to carry out investigations starting from the issuance of an investigation warrant. Regarding the suspect's position, Yogi explained that his party did not make arrests because this case was a follow-up to a report from Bawaslu.
