The Jambi Provincial Government made a report to the Jambi Regional Police regarding the destruction of the governor's office during a demonstration by hundreds of coal drivers which led to the destruction of facilities at the governor's office.

For information, there was a riot by the demonstrators by destroying inventory belonging to the Jambi Provincial Government on Monday (22/1) at around 13.30 WIB.

The action of hundreds of coal drivers was because they demanded the Jambi Provincial Government to open national access roads for coal truck traffic. It is known that the Jambi Provincial Government has temporarily closed coal traffic through national roads because it causes congestion and urges companies to use river routes.

As a result of the demonstration, damage occurred to several parts of the governor's office including 137 pieces of damage to the main glass of the Jambi Governor's Office, 30 500 watt firing lights, 25 ornamental lights and five large hanging lights, 14 air conditioning units, four service cars were damaged.

From the damage to the inventory items above, the loss is estimated at hundreds of millions of rupiah.

Regarding the closure of this road, the Jambi Provincial Government had previously urged coal companies to create a special coal road.
