Police Arrest 7.3 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine Courier At Kualanamu Airport

The North Sumatra Regional Police arrested seven suspected couriers of 7.3 kilograms of methamphetamine at Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

"This arrest is a joint work with Kualanamu International Airport officers," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police Kombes Hadi Wahyudi in Medan as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 24.

This arrest occurred twice on Tuesday (23/1). The first case began with three male passengers with the initials II, MJ and AS residents of Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.

"Officers found 30 plastics containing methamphetamine with 3,104 grams of evidence confiscated to be brought to Kendari," said Hadi.

The three perpetrators admitted that the evidence brought was an order with the initials A who was on the wanted list (DPO).

"In the second case, airport officers and Deli Serdang Police arrested passengers with the initials MI, RS, IZ and AZ who are residents of North Sumatra and West Java," said Hadi.

During the examination; confiscated evidence in the form of 4.119 kg of crystal methamphetamine which was planned to be brought to Cengkareng.

"The perpetrators are currently being investigated further by the officers," he said.

The North Sumatra Regional Police and their ranks continue to eradicate drugs, including taking action and carrying out rehabilitation which is one of the priority programs.

"This arrest is a commitment of the North Sumatra Police in eradicating narcotics trafficking in this area," said Hadi.
