Surya Paloh Believes The Second Round Of The 2024 Presidential Election Will Be More Exciting

DENPASAR - Chairman of the DPP NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, believes that if there is a second round in the 2024 Presidential General Election (Pilpres), the atmosphere will certainly be more exciting than what is currently taking place.

Surya Paloh conveyed this when responding to the discourse of closing the camp of presidential and vice-presidential candidates number 1 Anies-Muhaimin to the presidential and vice-presidential candidate pair number 3 Ganjar-Mahfudapabila the presidential election will take place in two rounds.

"It's definitely more exciting. There hasn't been a round yet, it's fun, let alone the second round," said Paloh in Denpasar, Bali, Tuesday, January 23.

Surya Paloh responded to the discourse casually and until now the politician and businessman have not established communication with PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri as the party that carries the Ganjar-Mahfud pair.

The NasDem Party, which in the 2019 election with the PDI-P won the Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin pair, currently still sees the political dynamics that are happening. For the NasDem Party, in the 2024 election there is no problem to anchor anywhere.

"Anyone has no problem with NasDem. The NasDem Party has a desire to keep political communication disbursed to anyone. There is no problem with anyone," said Paloh.

Despite the lack of being seen accompanying the political work of Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar in the 2024 General Election, Surya Paloh stated that he would still accompany them even though he was not physically, such as monitoring the course of every presidential and vice presidential debate held by the KPU.

"The physical is not accompanying, but you can see what I have said anywhere. Coincidentally, I just returned from abroad, maybe there are a few things I did. There are 22 days of travel, I think it's quite solid for people like me," he said.

In his speech, instead of discussing the discourse on the second round of the presidential election, the General Chairperson of the NasDem Party DPP reminded his cadres more about elections that uphold unity, even though there are different choices.

"We certainly stroke our chests when the words and wishes of the election hope take place without being tense, taking place fairly and honestly, it is disturbed. Of course we are stroking our chests," he said, quoted by Antara.

"We are holding elections that are followed by fellow Indonesian children, the election only lasts a day, don't sacrifice all our social communication, it has been organized and took place in such a way because it is different, let alone incitement, playing unfairly. I said that if we can't fight it, we leave it to God," said Surya Paloh.
