Vaccination At Tanah Abang Market Generates Crowds, DKI Deputy Governor Asks The Committee To Set Turn Hours

JAKARTA - The police disperse vaccinations targeting traders at Tanah Abang Market today. The dispersal of the COVID-19 vaccination on the 8th and 12th floors of Blok A Tanah Abang was due to crowds.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria confirmed this. So that the crowd does not happen again, Riza asked the organizing committee to fix the technical implementation of vaccination.

"In the future, we ask the committee that organizes vaccines at Tanah Abang Market to make technical and detailed arrangements," said Riza at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 23.

For example, the committee could share the schedule for vaccine injections by providing details on the distribution of hours for the vaccine.

"Don't just distribute the day and date coupons. But the hours are set, for example, 8 to 9, 9 to 10, so there is no crowd," he said.

Riza views, the problem of technical regulation of the vaccination program is actually a simple obstacle. However, this requires thorough technical attention.

"I think this is a very simple problem in fact, but it should not be taken lightly. Distribution of coupons must be adjusted for capacity, amount, time, divided, not opening hours until closing hours. But divided into batches and so on," he explained.

For information, in the beginning the vaccination at Tanah Abang Market today has been running orderly since morning. However, some time later, the queue for potential vaccine recipients grew longer, until they were crowded.

"Many traders did not arrive on schedule and caused queues not to comply with health protocols. Initially we advised to maintain distance. But we were also advised not to maintain distance," said Kapolsek Metro Tanah Abang Kompol Singgih Hermawan.

Finally, the police coordinated with the Health Office and it was decided to stop. This is because, according to Singgih, the traders are no longer able to follow the officers' directions regarding the implementation of health protocols.

"The health workers have returned home and have agreed to stop. This is because the traders are no longer regular," he said.
