Sowan To Sultan HB X, Prabowo: He Gives Wejangan We Receive

YOGYAKARTA - Presidential Candidates Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X at Gedhong Wilis, Kepatihan Office, Yogyakarta, Monday 22 January.

After meeting the Sultan for more than 1 hour, Prabowo explained his arrival with Gibran to ask the Sultan for permission regarding his campaign activities that will take place in DIY.

"We are grateful that Ngarsa Dalem (Sultan HB X) is in good condition. We ask for time and only sowan, also reported, yes, ask permission to enter the area," Prabowo told the media crew, confiscated by Antara.

In addition, Prabowo admitted that he asked the Sultan's views on a number of matters related to technology and future problems.

"I also got his views on several problems, especially future problems, technological issues and so on. He gave us the advice we received, also asked for his views on several things," he said.

Prabowo reiterated that the essence of his arrival was none other than for sowan and asked for permission from the person he was parentsing in accordance with customs or culture.

"In accordance with our culture, our custom is if we want to enter one place, we come to the oldest one, so we ask for permission. I think that's the point," said Prabowo.

Meanwhile, Sultan HB X emphasized that there was no special discussion in the meeting with Prabowo and Gibran.

"We have no special discussions," said Ngarsa Dalem.

Sultan admitted that the meeting was a means of talking and exchanging ideas about things that were, even though they were common.

"We did talk various kinds because it was in the context of the presidential election. However, we talked about all of that in general in a sense, yes, we just exchanged our minds. For the presidential election, campaigns and so on, yes, please because I am not part of it," said Sultan HB X.

The Coordinator of Substances for Public Relations, General Bureau, Public Relations, and Protocol of the DIY Regional Secretariat, Ditya Nanaryo Aji, said that there was nothing special about the visit.

According to Ditya, Sri Sultan always openly accepts anyone who wants to stay in touch and will not affect the neutrality of the Governor of Yogyakarta in the 2024 presidential election.

"He is considered to be the chair of Indonesia, it is natural that many want to meet to ask for advice, including the presidential and vice presidential candidate. This is not the first time, last December the presidential candidate number 3 is also sowan. In fact, in the 2019 presidential election, the two candidates were sowan. No problems, still accepted, remain neutral," he said.
