Prabowo Praises Former SOE Minister Rini Soemarno Who Still Wants To Take Care Of Cooperatives

Presidential Candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto praised the Minister of SOEs for the 2014-2019 period Rini Soemarno in front of thousands of members of the Prosperous Digital Mekar Cooperative (MDSmen) at Pakansari Stadium, Cibinong, Bogor Regency, West Java, Sunday, January 21.

"I know Mrs. Rini. I think Mrs. Rini if she wants to live well in America, she can. I'm also surprised why Mrs. Rini wants to take care of the cooperative. I was finally amazed and determined to help MDS Badminton," Prabowo said in MDS

He also thanked Rini Soemarno as chairman of the MDS Cooperative Advisory Board for inviting him to become an MDS citizen at the last meeting in Purwakarta and occupying the position of chairman of the MDS Honorary Council.

Prabowo will support all efforts to mobilize cooperatives in Indonesia. According to him, cooperatives are tools and facilities to help people whose economic conditions are weak.

"If I become president later, I want to raise a cooperative. I am also the chairman of the board of supervisors for the village unit's main unit," he said.

However, he continued, because it is currently a political year, he is worried that when he makes capital participation, he will be considered a practice of money politics or money politics. "My grandfather is the founder of a cooperative with Bung Hatta. My father was the head of the civil servant cooperative, until he died he served there. Until now, I have fostered several cooperatives. In the army, I also foster cooperatives," said Prabowo.

Meanwhile, Rini Soemarno revealed that at the end of 2023, MDSmen appointed Prabowo Subianto as chairman of the Honorary Council.

"MDS has an extraordinary new member, namely Mr. Prabowo Subianto. He is willing to be chairman of the MDS Honorary Council. Thank you, Mr. Prabowo," said Rini.

According to Rini, after becoming chairman of the honorary council, Prabowo actively held a talk meeting with MDS members. Rini explained that the cooperative, which was formed two years ago, now has 47,913 members, consisting of the employee community, TransJakarta bus drivers, cassava farmers, and the micro business community.

"Although MDS is not yet big, the MDS family in the past two years has been able to build a useful home for all of us," said Rini.
