The National Police Hand Over 7 Suspects In The Score Fixing Case To The Sleman Prosecutor's Office, Immediately Tried

The National Police's Anti-Mafia Ball Task Force handed over seven of the eight suspects in the football mafia case in the form of match fixing in the 2018 Liga 2 match to the Sleman District Attorney, Yogyakarta Special Region.

"We from the Anti-Mafia Ball Task Force must delegate the responsibility of the suspect and also evidence to the public prosecutor in order to prove later at trial," said Head of Sub-Directorate II of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police AKBP Made Redi as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, January 18.

Redi said that all suspects and evidence were transferred to the Sleman Kejari because the match-fixing case occurred in the Sleman jurisdiction, so that the trial process would take place at the Sleman District Court.

He explained that the seven suspects who were handed over consisted of three suspects who acted as bribes and four others as bribe recipients.

The seven suspects had the initials RP, R, K, AS, DRN, VW, and KM.

"We still have one 'PR', namely one suspect who is still at large with the initials GAS. However, we have made a DPO (wanted list) and we have spread it to all regions. We from the cyber directorate continue to pursue and arrest the GAS," he said.

Redi said the suspects who gave bribes were charged with Article 2 of Law Number 11 of 1980 concerning the Crime of Bribery with a threat of five years in prison and a fine of Rp. 15 million.

Meanwhile, the recipient of the bribe was charged with Article 3 with a threat of three years in prison and a fine of Rp. 15 million.

Head of General Crimes Section of the Sleman Kejari Agung Wijayanto said that after receiving the delegation, the prosecutor detained three of the seven suspects, namely DRN, VW, and KM.

"Four suspects were not detained because the detention could not be carried out," he said.

According to Agung, the Sleman Kejari will immediately perfect the indictment so that next week it can be transferred to court.

"In the near future, prosecutors at the Sleman District Attorney's Office and the Attorney General's Office will immediately complete the existing indictments, then next week we will immediately transfer them to the court for immediate trial," he explained.
