Sultan Inaugurates Jalan Tawang-Ngalang Gunungkidul

GUNUNGKIDUL - Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan HB X inaugurated the Tawang-Ngalang road and bridge in Gunungkidul Regency which is expected to accelerate the economic growth of the community, especially tourism.

"The construction of this road is something strategic in the northern region. Because this will have access to the Bokoharjo toll exit, Prambanan," said DIY Governor Sri Sultan HB X as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, January 18.

He said the road section connecting Gunungkidul and Sleman is expected to reduce the burden on the Piyungan- Gunungkidul road so that the density of the main route can be decomposed.

"We hope these tourists will be comfortable when traveling to Yogyakarta, especially to Gunungkidul," he hoped.

The King of the Ngayogyokarto Hadiningrat Palace also said that currently, there are several developments in Yogyakarta that continue to be carried out including the 23 kelok and the Pandansimo-Rangtritis bridge. This infrastructure is expected to be completed in 2024.

"The one in the south is a new area that can be grown from coastal product products and others because we still assume Yogyakarta is facing the south," he said.

Sultan hopes that the agencies related to Gunungkidul and the provinces will immediately identify the Nglanggeran road to Ijo Temple. Identification is carried out to see whether the route is suitable for buses or other large vehicles.

"Access does not meet the requirements for tourism. It is not dangerous for buses if it does not meet us to widen it, we will rebuild the road structure," said Sultan.

Meanwhile, DIY Regional Secretary Beni Suharsono said the construction of bridges and roads is the government's effort to reduce the gap between regions, the connecting road between Gunungkidul and Sleman will be access for tourists.

"Tawang-Ngalang Street has a length of 9.5 Kilometers. Passing five padukuhan and three kalinewons. Development uses special funds that cost Rp269 billion," he said.

The Regent of Gunungkidul Sunaryanta said that the construction of the Tawang - Ngalang road will appear a new economic spot and become an economic driver in the northern western region.

"Collaborated and integrated with Yogyakarta and Sleman, an economic increase will automatically be created," he said.
