High Public Satisfaction, Ketum Golkar Affirms No Discourse On Jokowi's Impeachment

JAKARTA - The general chairman of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, confirmed that there was no discourse on impeachment of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as has been the issue recently. Because he said, the level of public satisfaction with the performance of the Jokowi government is quite high.

"Nothing, nothing, nothing is reflected (the violations committed by Jokowi, ed) and from the results of high public trust," said Airlangga at the Golkar Party DPP office, West Jakarta, Wednesday, January 17.

Airlangga emphasized that the Golkar Party would never agree with the efforts to impeach the president. In fact, he said, there was no discussion at all in the DPR.

On the other hand, said Airlangga, the Jokowi government cabinet received full support from parties in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition.

"Nothing, the Golkar Party will not do that and far away, there will be no discussion at all in the DPR. But I emphasize that today with the composition of the existing cabinet, the president is supported by more than 80 percent, especially plus the Indonesian coalition is advanced. So we are sure it doesn't exist, "said the Minister of the Economy.

Airlangga assessed that the 2024 election was relatively conducive compared to the previous election. So he believes that impeachment is just an issue.

"If we look at the community, it is relatively cool and of course it is different from the previous elections, because in the past the DKI regional elections were heated, then the regional elections, so that during the election it was already warm and hot, but now there is no election. So we see the cool people are at peace," he concluded.
