Anies Wants To Return People With Integrity To The KPK

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan wants to return people with integrity to the KPK. Anies emphasized that the KPK must return its authority, including the recruitment of KPK employees.

"There are important things that we need to convey. Gus Imin and I are committed to restoring the legal authority of the KPK, the independence of the KPK, and that means we have to revise the KPK Law," Anies told reporters at the KPK building, Wednesday, January 17.

"The second thing is to return people with integrity to the KPK body, it does not mean that old people are returned but the principle of recruitment is based on integrity without tolerance, both for leaders and for KPK employees. That way, we can expect, one, the institution is independent," continued Anies.

Anies in his presentation during the PAKU Integrity (Strengthening Anti-Corruption for the 2024 presidential and vice presidential candidates) talked about the revision of the KPK Law. Strengthening is the keyword.

"Reverting public trust, returning the KPK to become a core that has strength and has the ability to take action against corruption. Aspects of one law, we want to return the KPK to be legally authoritative, this means revising the KPK Law. We want this revision to return the KPK to a strong position," said Anies.
