KPK Alludes To Corruption-Beking Persons In The Mining To Forestry Sector In Front Of 3 Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates

JAKARTA - The interim chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nawawi Pomolango revealed that there are still many individuals who are ranking or protecting fraudulent practices in the natural resource management sector.

This was conveyed by Nawawi in the Anti-Corruption Strengthening activity for State Officials with Integrity or Paku which was attended by three presidential candidates (candidates) and vice presidential candidates (cawapres), Wednesday, January 17. He said that individuals who protect corrupt practices still often meet in the field.

"We meet individuals as backing in the natural resource management sector, such as in the mining, plantation, forestry sector," Nawawi said in his remarks in front of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates who were present at the KPK Juang building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

Not only that, Nawawi also mentioned corruption related to the procurement of goods and services. He said, from planning to licensing processes, fraud and corruption often occur.

This is what is suspected of making the corruption perception index (IPK) in the country continue to stagnate and even decline. "In the field, we still find that throughout Indonesia the practice of commissioning for development projects is rampant," said Nawawi.

"The practice of bribery is in the licensing process, regulating the process of procuring goods and services, and even starting from the planning process to buying and selling positions," he continued.

Finally, Nawawi also mentioned that there are still many people who extort. They usually ask for project rations and are often complained about by the community.

"In other words, the eradication of corruption so far has not been optimal in implementation," he concluded.
