Palace Calls Groundbreaking Every Month At IKN Ensures Commitment From Investors

JAKARTA - Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana said the groundbreaking of infrastructure projects in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) is carried out every month to ensure the commitment of investors and government institutions in realizing the new capital city

"Because we want to make sure what is built, it will be a commitment rather than investors and then also from government institutions to immediately build IKN realized by groundbreaking," said Ari Dwipayana at the Ministry of State Secretariat Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 16, quoted by Antara.

Ari said that this week there was indeed a schedule for President Jokowi to lay the first stone or groundbreaking for infrastructure projects at IKN.

According to Ari, the government continues to strive to build supporting infrastructure in IKN such as airports, Balikpapan-IKN toll roads, dams, health facilities, housing, schools and others. This is done so that IKN is ready to become a place to live when the government begins to move state civil servants to the country's new capital city.

"So everything is confirmed when moving to IKN, a supportive ecosystem for the transfer is available," he said.

In addition to supporting infrastructure, Ari explained, the government also continues to build the Central Government Core Area (KIPP).

"So the important thing from IKN is that apart from the office or the Presidential Palace and the Vice President, supporting infrastructure is also prepared," he said.

Groundbreaking of infrastructure projects at IKN in January 2024 is the fourth stage.

Previously, President Jokowi had always attended the three stages of groundbreaking of infrastructure projects at IKN. According to IKN Authority (OIKN) data, there was a realization of investment request commitments of approximately IDR 41.4 trillion during the three series of groundbreakings at IKN.

The government is starting the construction of IKN for a long to complete period in 2045. The government is also targeting to be able to carry out the first ceremony of the Indonesian Independence Day at IKN in August 2024 or this year.
