JAKARTA - Senior politician Maruarar Sirait has officially resigned from the PDIP after handing over his membership card (KTA) to the PDIP Deputy Secretary General Utut Adianto at the PDIP DPP office, Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Central Jakarta on Monday. On that occasion, Ara, as he is familiarly called, also said goodbye to PDIP and PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.Ara's alignment is withdrawn from the PDIP because he wants to follow in the footsteps of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who is judged to have humanized the Indonesian people. "Because I have so far had many shortcomings, I apologize. I also thank you for being given the opportunity to follow Pak Jokowi, and my permission to follow the steps than Mr. Jokowi," said Ara to Utut Adianto in a video uploaded by Ara on his Instagram account Tuesday, January 16. "I am sorry again if there are many shortcomings of Pak Utut, I return this member card, it is true that my father is the founder of PDI Perjuangan and my father also said, how good, "say, Mr. Jokowi, because he is good and correct. Previously, PDIP Secretary Hasto Kristiyanto said that his party had received a report on the resignation of senior politician Maruara Sirait or commonly called Ara. The report, said Hasto, was conveyed by the Deputy Secretary General (Wasekjen) PDIP, Utut Adianto.

"We have received a report from Pak Utut Adianto that Pak Ara Sirait has submitted his resignation by handing over the Party KTA. Being a party member is based on the principle of volunteerism, as is the case for not being a member to be able to submit his resignation," said Hasto in his statement, Monday. Hasto said that the Party's DPP accepted Pak Ara Sirait's resignation. Moreover, said Hasto, Ara was increasingly successful in becoming an entrepreneur.
