Ganjar: I Hope The Wadas And Rembang Cases Will Be Discussed During The Presidential Candidate Debate

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate 2024 number 3, Ganjar Pranowo was asked by a young man about the case of the Semen Rembang and Wadas factories. Ganjar hopes that this case can be asked in the presidential election debate.

This moment occurred when Ganjar discussed with young people who are members of the Pioneer Generation who had the opportunity to discuss with Ganjar at the Bloc Jakarta Post, Sunday, January 14 yesterday.

They are critically discussing with Ganjar. They asked about many things, from job opportunities to environmental issues. One of them is Rima Kusumadewi, a student of UGM nursing science. To Ganjar, he asked about the Semen Rembang and Wadas conflict that occurred when Ganjar led Central Java.

"In your vision and mission, it is stated that you will build a green economy and protect the environment. But when you become governor of Central Java, you are faced with environmental issues, namely the Semen Rembang and Wadas factories. How are you committed to that," asked Rima.

There are also questions from other young people about Ganjar's readiness for the presidential election debate. One of the last debates was about the environment.

"You are not worried about Wadas and Semen Rembang being discussed later. Later you will be attacked about this," shouted another young man.

Hearing that critical question, Ganjar smiled proudly. He said he was very happy to receive critical questions from young people.

"I am very happy to get this question. When it comes to debate, whether I am afraid that this will be discussed (Wadas and Semen Rembang), it must be discussed so that it is clear. Before the debate, I will tell you here, this is a story that not many people know," he said.

Ganjar said that the cases of Semen Rembang and Wadas were indeed one of the environmental problems. He admitted that community socialization was very lacking in the project.

"But what people have to know, it's not my project. It's a national strategic project. But because I was the Governor of Central Java at that time, I was responsible and resolved everything. Because I was taught parents should not run away from responsibility," he said.

Even though Ganjar realized it, it could have an impact on him. Electability, his high popularity at that time will be threatened. Many people will attack and blame it.

"But I don't care, this is my responsibility as a leader. So I took it and I finished it," he said.

And that's true, Ganjar became the target of that. He was considered not to care about the environment and it seemed as if the fault with Semen Rembang and Wadas was his fault.

"Even though it's a national strategic project, you know, it's not my project. And not many know, if I refuse mining three times in Central Java. Yes, the news about me refusing a mine is not interesting, what's interesting is the conflict," he said.

Ganjar explained that he had rejected the construction of cement factories in Kebumen, Pati and Grobogan. He has also rejected gold mining in Wonogiri. The reason for the rejection was because they did not meet mining requirements.

"But it's not much to tell because it's not interesting. Today I told this story so that my friends understand," he concluded.
