Despite Being Attacked By The US-UK, The Houthis Still Target Israeli Ships

JAKARTA - The Yemeni Political and Military Group, the Houthis will continue to target Israeli ships or ships bound for Palestine. The statement came after there was a threat of airstrike targets from the US-UK.

"The American and British Zionist attacks on Yemen are brutal and unjust attacks that cannot be justified, real violations of all laws, and they will pay dearly," Houthi's Chief Political Council chairman Mahdi al-Mashat quoted Antara as saying.

As reported by Yemeni news agency Saba, al-Mashat stressed Houthi's commitment to "preventing Israeli ships or those bound for occupied Palestine regardless of the aggression of American and British Zionists against the Yemeni people."

"The blood of the Yemeni people is valuable and our revenge will not diminish," Mashat said, adding that the actions of the United States and Britain "will not prevent Yemen from supporting Palestine."

The US and British militaries on Thursday (11/1) launched an attack on the Houthis targeting the Houthis-controlled territory in Yemen.

According to the White House - the US president's office - the measure is "retaliatory for the illegal, dangerous, and destabilizing Houthi attacks on ships, including commercial shipping passing through the Red Sea.

The US and British militaries, the White House said, carried out a joint attack based on individual and collective self-defense rights, in accordance with the UN Charter, against several targets in the Houthi-controlled Yemeni region.

The White House said the joint attack was supported by the Netherlands, Canada, Bahrain, and Australia.

The Houthis said they attacked commercial ships linked to Israel in the Red Sea as a form of solidarity with Palestine, after the Israeli military launched a relentless military attack on Gaza after the Hamas attack on October 7.
