Jambi KPU: 1,481 Children's Tribes Participate In Choosing In The 2024 Election

JAMBI - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Jambi Province noted that in the Permanent Voter List (DPT) of the 2024 Jambi Province, voters from the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) or jungle people amounted to 1,841 voters with details of 1,017 male voters and 824 female voters. "The 1,481 SAD voters were spread across four districts, namely Merangin, Sarolangun, Batanghari and Tebo which were in 18 sub-districts then in 40 villages/kelurahan and there were 65 polling stations (TPS) included in the 2024 General Election DPT," said Jambi Provincial KPU member Fahrul Rozi in Jambi, Antara, Friday, January 12. KPU data records that the SAD residents or jungle people enter and have political rights after they have an electronic Identity Card (KTP) that has been registered with the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil) in four districts. Of the 1,481 SAD residents who have the most political rights, there are 738 people in Sarolangun Regency consisting of 344 male and female voters and 344 people and they are spread across five sub-districts, 15 villages and 27 polling stations. Furthermore, SAD residents in Merangin Regency amounted to 489 Voters, with details of 266 male voters and 223 female voters spread across 17 polling stations in seven sub-districts and 14 villages/kelurahan. In addition, there are 317 SAD residents in Batanghari Regency, with details of 187 male voters and 130 female voters spread across two sub-districts and five villages/kelurahan as well as five polling stations. Next, SAD in Tebo Regency only numbered 297 voters, with details 170 male voters and 127 female voters spread across 16 polling stations in four sub-districts and six villages/kelurahan.

The Jambi Provincial KPU hopes that the participation of SAD residents in this election can be achieved one hundred percent so that even so, even though they are marginalized groups, they have the same political rights as other citizens or communities who have voting rights in the 2024 General Election.
