CIREBON - Cirebon Regent Imron confirmed that the repair of the room at SMP Negeri 2 Cirebon, West Java was carried out as quickly as possible after the construction of the roof at the school this morning. Imron said that his party had instructed the Cirebon Regency Education Office (Disdik) to directly inspect the condition of the room at the school, so that the handling process after the incident was carried out properly. “Information that someone collapsed (a roof) in two rooms. Earlier I contacted the head of the service, that's true. So at SMP Negeri 2 Greged who was affected by one classroom and one teacher's room,” said Imron when confirmed in Cirebon, Antara, Friday, January 12. He also asked the Cirebon Regency Education Office to immediately investigate and evaluate the condition of the light steel roof structure applied to the two rooms. From the results of the review, according to him, the incident allegedly occurred because the construction structure on the roof of the room was unable to support the precarious load made of clay. Imron assessed that the room should use sand metal tiles, whose load can be held to the maximum with a light steel roof structure. Meanwhile, the Head of the Cirebon District Education Office, Ronianto, explained that the collapsing roof of the two rooms occurred during learning activities which caused six students to be injured. According to him, the current condition of the victim is gradually recovering because he has received medical treatment at the nearest health center. On average, the student suffered minor injuries after being hit by collapsed roof debris. “The victims have returned to their respective homes for the healing process. They are class VII students, three sons and three daughters,” he said.

Ronianto guarantees that the investigation process will continue to be carried out by cooperating with related parties, considering that the construction structure error is still an allegation of the cause of the collapse of the roof at SMP Negeri 2 Greged.
