Disbudpar Targets Tinjomoyo Semarang Glass Bridge Study To Be Completed In 2024

SEMARANG - The Department of Culture and Tourism (Disbudpar) of Semarang City targets a study on the implementation of the occupational safety and health (K3) of the Tinjomoyo Semarang Glass Bridge to be completed by the end of 2024.

"For the glass bridge, we really have to fulfill the K3 first. We put forward the K3 element," said Head of the Semarang City Disbudpar Wing Wiyarso, on the sidelines of the Komukino Festival, Semarang, Thursday, January 11, which was confiscated by Antara.

Moreover, he continued, along with the broken glass bridge incident in The Geong, the Limpakuwus Pine Forest Complex, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, some time ago that killed a visitor.

Although the construction and structure of the glass bridge in the Tinjomoyo Tourism Forest are safe, he said, there are still many factors to consider for operationalization.

"One of them (the study) is K3. God willing, it can be completed in 2024 soon. After that, it will only be operationalized," he said.

The tourism potential must indeed be optimized, said Wing, but it must still be prepared and carefully calculated so that in the future it will not be even counterproductive to efforts to boost tourist visits.

According to him, the security and safety aspects of visitors are indeed prioritized for the Tinjomoyo Glass Bridge according to the direction of the Mayor of Semarang before the incident of a broken glass bridge in Banyumas.

The plan, he said, is that the operation of the Tinjomyo Glass Bridge can only be carried out after the completion of activities in the 2023 Revised Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) and the 2024 Semarang City APBD.

In addition to the K3 study, there are several additions, such as the east side section, supporting infrastructure for the complete operation of glass bridges, such as safety nets, the elevation of'safety railing', and the provision of barriers.

Later, Wing added that the operation of the glass bridge was accompanied by the preparation of human resources (HR) which had K3 certification, especially in the management of conditions at high level.

"So, not as long as K3 is normal. You must have the expertise and ability to manage it at an altitude. Usually friends from 'climbing', rock climbing that has such certification. This is in the process of stages," he said.
