Ipsos Survey: Shocked By Jokowi Effects, Highest Prabowo-Gibran Electability

JAKARTA - The results of the latest survey by Ipsos Public Affairs show that the dynamics of voters tend to be narrowed to one of the pairs of candidates (paslon) for presidential and vice-presidential candidates ahead of the 2024 presidential election, which is only a matter of weeks.

The survey, which took place in 34 provinces in Indonesia, revealed that Prabowo-Gibran's highest electability defeated the stagnant Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud MD.

"For the electability of presidential and vice-presidential candidates, the effect of Jokowi's support is increasingly visible showing its effectiveness which has an impact on strengthening the electability of one candidate pair on the same side, and on the other hand weakening the votes of other candidate pairs," said the press statement for the latest survey. Ipsos Public Affairs, Thursday 11 January.

According to the survey, which was conducted from December 27 to January 5, 2024, Prabowo-Gibran's electability was recorded to have increased from 42.66 percent to 48.05 percent. Followed by Anies-Muhaimin stagnant from 22.14 percent to 22.80 percent.

Meanwhile, Ganjar-Mahfud, which actually fell from 22.95 percent to 18.35 percent.

Meanwhile, those who have not made a choice in this survey are 11.80 percent.

In this survey, Jokowi's effect was even more evident because it was proven to have skyrocketed Prabowo-Gibran's electability. Especially Jokowi-Ma'ruf 2019 voters are getting bigger to support this candidate pair number two.

Meanwhile, the highest solidity of candidate pair support for presidential and vice presidential candidates is in the Prabowo-Gibran candidate pair, which is only 13 percent that can still change. Meanwhile, Anies-Muhaimin has 15 supporters who can still shift.

"Meanwhile, there are 20 percent of Ganjar-Mahfud candidate pairs that can still shift. If it is related to public satisfaction with the performance of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Government, it seems that it has increased compared to November. In November, public satisfaction of 65 percent increased to 74 percent," wrote the survey statement.

"It can be read that whoever is the candidate pair for the presidential and vice presidential candidates is considered to continue the work programs of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf government, it is very likely that Jokowi will have an effect on electability," said the statement.
