Vice President Ma'ruf Amin attended the 51st Anniversary of PDIP

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for Vice President Masduki Baidlowi emphasized that Vice President Ma'ruf Amin consistently took a neutral position in the 2024 presidential election contestation.

This was conveyed by Masduki regarding the three-finger greeting carried out by Vice President Ma'ruf while attending the 51st Anniversary of the PDI-P in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 10.

"Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin consistently takes a neutral position in the 2024 presidential election contestation, as often conveyed on various occasions. Netrality is one of the reasons the Vice President is present at the PDIP Anniversary event, as well as the anniversary of other political parties," Masduki said in a statement quoted by ANTARA.

Masduki emphasized that regarding the three-finger metal greeting shown by the Vice President while attending the PDI-P Anniversary, the Vice President should not be perceived as supporting certain presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the current presidential election contestation.

"The metal greeting (three fingers) is purely a greeting of familiarity, respecting the PDIP anniversary. The greeting has long been used by PDIP. Metal shows a total red acronym, as the color of the party's flag," said Masduki.

Previously, the Vice President while attending the 51st Anniversary of the PDI-P showed three finger greetings in the photo session at the end of the event, together with the Chairperson of the PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri and the board of directors.
