Officers Hold Simulation Of Election Candidates In Cipinang Prison

JAKARTA - The Class 1 Cipinang Penitentiary (Lapas), East Jakarta held a simulation of the election voting on the sports field in the prison area on Wednesday, January 10.

The simulation was carried out to determine the readiness of prisons and detention centers in Jakarta ahead of the 2024 General Election. This is because the number of prisoners (WBP) or inmates in Jakarta reaches tens of thousands of people.

"The data that we have, the number of voters on February 14 will be 14,762 people. The number is spread across 8 prisons and detention centers and 1 LPKA in Jakarta," said Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of DKI Jakarta, Ibnu Chuldun to reporters, Wednesday, January 10.

Ibnu explained, the total number of polling stations in prisons, detention centers and LPKA in Jakarta is 56 polling stations. This 2024 election simulation was carried out at the Class 1 Cipinang Prison.

"This time the simulation is at Cipinang Prison, and the implementation will be the same in other prisons in DKI Jakarta. Likewise at LPKA (Special Child Development Institution)," he said.

Meanwhile, the Inspectorate of Region III, Iwan Santoso added, the simulation of this year's election voting is different from the previous year.

"In the past, the TPS was in the block, now we are in the field. Everyone can see, meaning that there is no intervention from any party. Don't doubt that we and neutrality will definitely be maintained. We have declared that we will be neutral in the upcoming 2024 elections," he added.

Previously, it was reported that the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of DKI Jakarta, Ibnu Chuldun, formed a task force (Satgas) for the neutrality of ASN in the 2024 General Election. Later, the task force will monitor and take action against ASN involved in political campaigns.

"This task force is one of our efforts, how can we guarantee that all ASN and VATPN in the DKI Jakarta Regional Office, which number more than 4,000, are really neutral in the 2024 election," Ibnu told reporters, Wednesday, January 10.
