Proven Corruption, Former Director Of Sumbawa Hospital Sentenced To 7 Years In Prison

The defendant received gratuities and bribes in the management of BLUD funds at the Sumbawa Hospital in the 2022 fiscal year, Dede Hasan Basri/ANTARA/Dhimas B.P.

The panel of judges at the Corruption Court at the Mataram District Court, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), sentenced the former Director of the Sumbawa Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Dede Hasan Basri to 7 years in prison for accepting gratuities and bribes in the management of the 2022 Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) funds.

"The trial was by imposing a sentence on the defendant Dede Hasan Basri with a sentence of 7 years in prison," said Chief Judge Jarot Widiyatmono when reading the verdict of the defendant Dede Hasan Basri at the Corruption Court at the Mataram District Court as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 10.

In the verdict, the panel of judges with members of Glorious Anggundoro and Djoko Soepriyono also sentenced the defendant to a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

The judge sentenced the principal sentence in accordance with the prosecutor's demands by stating that the defendant's actions were proven to have violated the first indictment.

"Declaring that the defendant is legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption several times as Director of the Sumbawa Hospital, power of budget user, commitment maker official, and BLUD leader at the Sumbawa Hospital," he said.

The judge also charged the defendant to pay compensation in the amount of Rp1.47 billion, a subsidiary of 2 years in prison.

"It is determined that the detention that has been carried out by the defendant is deducted entirely from the sentence imposed and determined that the defendant remains detained," he said.

"That the defendant's act of receiving fee money from the partner provider of goods through witness Muhammad Zainuri has fulfilled the elements of Article 12 letter e of the Corruption Eradication Law," said Djoko.

Regarding the involvement of witness Muhammad Zainuri who is an honorary staff at the Sumbawa Hospital, it was revealed that he was a complement to the criminal element of coercion committed by the defendant in his capacity as Director of the Sumbawa Hospital.

"In accordance with the facts of the trial, Muhammad Zainuri psychologically is under pressure from the defendant to collect and collect fees from his partners. Muhammad Zainuri as an honorary force cannot do anything considering the order was directly from the defendant as Director of the Sumbawa Hospital," he said.

By outlining these considerations, the Rp1.47 billion in compensation for state financial losses charged to the defendant was explained in the verdict from the deposit of witness Muhammad Zainuri and several other honorary employees.

"In accordance with the facts of the trial, it was revealed that the results of the withdrawal or fee collection from the partners were deposited with the defendant, both in cash and transfer to the defendant's personal account," he said.
