KASN: ASN Netrality Violations In The 2024 Election Are Predicted To Increase 5 Times

JAKARTA - Chairman of the State Civil Apparatus Commission (KASN) Agus Pramusinto predicts that the number of violations of ASN neutrality in the 2024 General Election will reach 10,000 cases, up five times compared to the 2020 simultaneous elections. "This figure is a potential violation that is predicted compared to the 2020 simultaneous regional elections," Agus said after attending a weekly discussion on the Guard of the General Election, in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, January 10. Agus said that this figure was the result of a mathematical calculation in the 2020 Pilkada which was only carried out in 270 regions, but caused a fairly high violation of ASN neutrality reaching 2,304 cases. This figure is predicted to increase sharply by five times, considering that the 2024 General Election will take place in 548 regions with various electoral levels, ranging from the election of DPD, DPRD, DPR RI, to presidential elections. "At that time, only 270 regions were held, while this year there were legislative elections, presidential elections, then DPD elections, simultaneous regional elections in 548 regions," said Agus. In its analysis, the potential for such violations will be greater in 10 regions in Indonesia that have previously been categorized as prone to violations of neutrality. "The potential was that there were 10 largest regencies/cities. Starting from Purbalingga at the district level, then at the provincial level there is Southeast Sulawesi, that's the area that we will continue to monitor," he said. There is also a type of violation of neutrality that dominates in the 2024 General Election. This is a violation through ASN's personal social media platform. Agus reminded that the violation of neutrality will result in strict sanctions and have an impact on the ASN's career.

"If that happens, of course we will emphasize that those who are subject to sanctions must immediately be sanctioned by the BPK. If that is not done then we will report to BKN to be blocked by staff. So, later they cannot promote and cannot take care of pensions and so on, that is a heavy consequence and no kidding," he said.
