Using Flip Flops, The Ministry of Social Affairs, Risma, Give Ready-to-Eat Food To Refugees: No Need To Cook

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has distributed logistical assistance to flood victims in Pebayuran District, Bekasi Regency. The assistance was handed over directly by the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini or Risma to the Head of Pebayuran Sub-District, Nabrih Binin Saend Monday, February 22.

To the sub-district head, Risma explained that the IDR 200 million worth of assistance was in the form of ready-to-eat food, children's food, blankets, mattresses, kids' wear, and rolling tents.

"Pak Camat (head of the district), this is a rolled tent like a tarpaulin, it (the tent) has holes that can be attached to the rope to tie it to a pole", Risma said in an electronic message received by VOI.

Aid was transported by two trucks directly from the Ministry of Social's warehouse in East Bekasi. According to Risma, a rolled tent can also be used as a base. She invited the Camat to arrange its use himself.

On that occasion, Risma wearing flip-flops toured various refugee camps to ensure that the refugees' needs were met.

Among those visited by Risma was the refugee post at the Sumbersari Village Office, Pebayuran District. Here, he distributed ready-to-eat food to 50 surviving refugees.

"You don't need to cook this food, you just need to give water, there is a tool in it, you can eat it directly", said Risma to the refugees.

Apart from the Sumbersari Village Office, a Refugee Post was also established at SMAN 1 Pebayuran. Previously, the Ministry of Social Affairs also distributed logistical assistance to flood victims in DKI Jakarta. The assistance was handed over directly by the Minister of Social Affairs on Saturday, January 20, in the form of 100 units of kids' wear, 150 children's meals, 300 ready meals, 100 blankets, and 100 folding mattresses worth IDR 137,378,550.
