The National Team Advises Jokowi To Attend The Presidential Election Debate To Be Able To Assessed Directly

JAKARTA - Assistant National Team Coach (Timnas) Anies-Muhaimin (AMIN)Jazilul Fawaid advised President Joko Widodo to directly attend the presidential and vice-presidential debates for the 2024 election so that he could judge directly.

According to Jazilul, the president is not prohibited from attending the political campaign because it is the same as embassy invitations, state officials' invitations, and other invitations.

"When it comes to debate, there are two more debates left, the President (Jokowi) is also not prohibited from participating in (witting) debates," said Jazilul at NasDem Tower, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 9.

Jazilul conveyed this in response to Jokowi's statement that the Third Debate of the 2024 Election Presidential Candidates only featured personal and minimal attacks discussing the vision and mission between presidential candidates.

If present at the debate event, the deputy chairman of the PKB asked Jokowi to be neutral by not sitting in the ranks of supporters of one of the candidates.

"But don't sit in the ranks of candidate pair number 1, number 2, number 3, to show neutrality," added Jazilul.

He assessed that the number one person in Indonesia needed to be present in the 2024 presidential and vice-presidential debates in order to find out firsthand the atmosphere of the debate from start to finish.

The next presidential and vice presidential candidate debate will be held on January 21, 2024, for the Fourth Debate of the 2024 and February 4, 2024 Election Vice Presidential Candidates for the Fifth Debate for the 2024 General Election.

"So, you can directly assess the debate from start to finish, knowing that someone protested to the moderator, you know directly, only two debates left," he said, quoted by Antara.
