KPK Ensures Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates Will Be Present At The Red And White House To Talk Anti-Corruption Commitment

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that presidential candidates (candidates) and their deputy candidates will be present at the KPK's Merah Putih building on Wednesday, January 17. The three candidate pairs will have the opportunity to convey their anti-corruption commitments.

"So the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs have confirmed that they will attend," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, January 9.

Ali ensured that the progress of the agenda would be re-disclosed. However, in this event, the presidential candidates will be given the opportunity to convey their commitment to prevent corrupt practices when elected.

"And it ends with the signing of an integrity pact, of course, in the context of eradicating corruption," he said.

This activity will also be followed by the General Elections Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu). "That is part of the agendas that we carry out in order to guard and ensure that the election runs honestly and fairly," said Ali.

As previously reported, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, said that his institution would ask about the commitment of the presidential candidates in efforts to eradicate corruption in the country. They will hold an event and invite the contestants for the democratic party.

"We will invite, we will hold our own forum specifically for anti-corruption issues," Ghufron told reporters quoted on Friday, December 15.

Ghufron said this forum was different from the debate held by the General Elections Commission (KPU). However, they can convey their vision and mission.

"So the KPK will later oversee and then ensure the commitment of the presidential candidates to the corruption eradication agenda, the KPK will hold its own moments. Not a debate but," he said.
