Attorney General: Prosecutors Guard The Policy Of Politics Of State Law

Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin said the Prosecutor's Office must oversee all lines of state law political policies so that the legal products made strengthen the Adhyaksa institution.

"The Prosecutor's Office must be able to oversee all lines of state law policy related to law enforcement, so that every legal product that is formed always makes efforts to strengthen the Prosecutor's Office," said Burhanuddin as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 9.

This mandate was reached by Burhanuddin when opening the 2024 Prosecutor's National Working Meeting (Rakernas) which was held from 9 to 11 January 2024 in Sentul Bogor.

The National Working Meeting of the Prosecutor's Office in 2024 has the theme 'laying On The Foundation For Modern Law Enforcement Transformation Towards Golden Indonesia 2045'.

According to Burhanuddin, the theme reflects the enthusiasm to position the Prosecutor's Office as a playmaker in the preparation of national legislation products related to institutions, duties and functions of law enforcement in dealing with strategic and up-to-date issues related to national policy direction in the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) towards Indonesia Gold 2045.

Therefore, the Prosecutor's Office must oversee all lines of state law policy related to law enforcement.

As the highest leader of the Prosecutor's Office, Burhanuddin gave several focal points that became a reference in the discussion of each Indonesian Prosecutor's Office Working Group (Pokja), namely, the transformation of the Prosecutor's Intelligence which is professional and modern in implementing the authority of law enforcement intelligence.

Then, the prosecutor's contribution and active role in welcoming the implementation of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and the preparation of Implementing Regulations.

Furthermore, the application of the prosecutor's authority in handling criminal acts that cause state economic losses and can be used to impose peaceful fines in economic crimes based on laws and regulations.

"The implementation of the Attorney General's authority as a state lawyer," said Burhanuddin.

Regarding the four Local Points above, Burhanuddin asked the National Working Meeting to be discussed this time and equipped with all constructive methods and ideas.

This, he said, was done in order to realize the basic ideal foundation for the transformation of modern law enforcement.

"So in this working meeting, it must produce the right output and be based on the responsibility to follow up and complete what is the result of the conclusion from the work meeting," he said.

Burhanuddin also conveyed that the transformation of the Prosecutor's Office towards modern organizations is not only talking about digitization, but also preparing reliable human resources (HR) and organizations that are able to adapt to people's legal needs quickly, precisely and usefully.

Closing his remarks, Burhanuddin invited all Adhyaksa personnel to start building a paradigm that all the actions of an Adhyaksa human being will affect the image of the Prosecutor's Institution, because each prosecutor is the face of the Prosecutor's Office in the community.

"Referring to the theme of the 2024 National Working Meeting, what is planted today will be useful and bear fruit for the current generation of the Prosecutor's Office and also enjoyed by the successors to the Prosecutor's baton in the future," said Burhanuddin.
