KPK Will Invite 3 Presidential Candidates To The Red And White Building Next Week

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to invite three presidential candidates (candidates) to the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Wednesday, January 17.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said Anies Baswedan, Prabowo Subianto, and Ganjar Pranowo would be asked to take part in the anti-corruption strengthening program for integrity organizers (PAKU Integrity). This program is usually held to prevent fraudulent practices and has been followed by both ministries and political parties in the country.

"So far, the information we have obtained is scheduled for January 17, 2024 at the KPK's Red and White building," Ali said when confirmed, Tuesday, January 9.

Ali hopes that the presidential candidates can attend because this activity is important. "Paku Integrity is a KPK program since 2021 through the Deputy for Education and Community Participation in order to strengthen the anti-corruption commitment of state administrators," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, said that his institution would ask about the commitment of the presidential candidates in efforts to eradicate corruption in the country. They will hold an event and invite the contestants for the democratic party.

"We will invite, we will hold our own forum specifically for anti-corruption issues," Ghufron told reporters quoted on Friday, December 15.

Ghufron said this forum was different from the debate held by the General Elections Commission (KPU). However, they can convey their vision and mission.

"So the KPK will later oversee and then ensure the commitment of the presidential candidates to the corruption eradication agenda, the KPK will hold its own moments. Not a debate but," he said.
