Weather Tuesday 9 January, Beware Of Rain Accompanied By Lightning In 13 Big Cities In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued a weather forecast for Tuesday, January 9. Forecasters Bagas Briliano asked the public to be aware of rain accompanied by lightning / lightning in 13 major cities in the country.

According to him, the BMKG has monitored the cyclonic circulation in the Karimata Strait and the Indian Ocean towards Sumatra which has caused an increase in rain clouds in these areas.

On the island of Sumatra, rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to occur in Pekanbaru, Padang, Tanjungpinang, Jambi, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung.

"On the island of Java, be aware of rain accompanied by lightning in the cities of Serang, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya, while the city of Jakarta has light rain, and Semarang has moderate rain," said Bagas in the BMKG Info broadcast on January 9.

Continuing to the islands of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, rain accompanied by lightning and lightning is predicted to occur in Mataram City. Meanwhile, Denpasar City will be cloudy, and Kupang City will have light rain.

On the island of Kalimantan, be aware that rain accompanied by lightning is predicted in Pontianak City and Banjarmasin.

On the island of Sulawesi, the majority of cities are predicted to have light and moderate rain, except for the cloudy city of Manado. Light and moderate rain conditions are also predicted to occur in eastern Indonesia which includes the cities of Ambon, Ternate, Manokwari, and Jayapura.

"The air temperature in big cities in the country ranges from 20 to 34 degrees Celsius, with humidity between 55 to 100 percent," said Bagas.
