Trust Indonesia: Anies-Ganjar Criticism Of Prabowo Good For Public Interest

JAKARTA - Executive Director of Trust Indonesia, Azhari Ardinal said that the critical attack on Presidential Candidates Prabowo Subianto from Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo in the presidential candidate debate that took place on Sunday (7/1) night was not a personal attack. Azhari emphasized that the criticism was due to Prabowo's background position as Minister of Defense (Menhan).

"In general, I appreciate Anies and Ganjar who openly attacked Prabowo. This means that this is not in a personal context, but in a bigger perspective, namely the responsibility (Menhan Prabowo) which must be conveyed openly," he said in the Ngobrol program with the Presidential Candidate Debate broadcast by the Indonesian Herald.

The attack, according to him, arose, as Prabowo did not show the essence of the discussion and the lack of data submitted. Thus, there is an impression that Prabowo's data is somewhat covered up from public knowledge.

The tension came because Prabowo covered up the data. Prabowo should have conveyed his highlights. Often Prabowo mentioned the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, who did not pass (budget) related to our Alutista. In my opinion, it only needs to be explained in a sequence of what the process looks like. He (Prabowo) does not need to convey it emotionally," said Azhari.

Ganjar in the debate, according to Azhari, was able to raise issues related to the welfare of the TNI-Polri which became added value for him.

"Ganjar saya nilai ia konsen keberpihak pemerintah terhadap kesejahteraan TNI-Polri. Tapi agak lebih keras karena ia memang memiliki latar belakang dari keluarga kepolisian. Ganjar itu selalu menyampaikan wabar-barang terkait dengan posisi geo-politik," ungkap Azhari.

Nevertheless, Azhari Ardinal said that all presidential candidates (candidates) did not technically describe the design of strengthening Indonesia's defense in the presidential candidate debate which took place on Sunday (7/1) night. According to him, all presidential candidates were recorded as having shortcomings in the material explained.

"I don't see the technical explanation (Pak Prabowo), but I see that he mentioned the Defense University which is increasingly focusing on the national security agenda. Meanwhile, for Ganjar, I see that he prioritizes the TNI-Polri as the party that plays a role in security," he explained.

At the same time, said Azhari, Anies Baswedan was actually more focused on the architecture of development related to the national security system strengthening scheme. Mainly in terms of technology.

"For Anies, in my opinion, he is more focused on the architecture of the development of a scheme to strengthen the National security system. Not only answering the problems we are facing, both in terms of technological attacks and others," he said.
