Dedi Mulyadi Willingly Drowns His Luxury Car While Providing Food Assistance

JAKARTA - The white Range Rover T 909 DM belonging to DPR RI member Dedi Mulyadi broke through the flood to provide food assistance to affected residents in the Babakan Banten Village, Sumber Urip Village, Pebayuran District, Bekasi Regency, Sunday, February 20 yesterday.

The flood in the village was caused by the breakdown of the Citarum River embankment.

"I will try to penetrate the flooded area which was badly caused by the breakdown of the river embankment, namely in Babakan Banten, Sumberurip Kebayuran Village, Bekasi Regency. Hopefully, this trip will be of benefit to anyone", said Dedi on Youtube channel, Kang Dedi Mulyadi Chanel quoted Monday, February 21.

The journey which was initially smooth was stopped in the Tanjung Pura area, Karawang due to a flood of about 1 meter that was blocking. Dedi and his team finally stopped.

Luckily there were several TNI personnel around the location. Using a rubber boat, the food packages that were brought were then distributed to residents around Tanjung Pura.

"The water has reached the car seat, it has been soaked. This is a risk of struggle, but the important thing is that the food has arrived at the residents", said Dedi.

The former Purwakarta Regent also provided food packages to the affected residents from the roof of his car. One by one, the residents, women, children, and adult men queued up to take the food.

Seen the water level up to the chest of adults. After assisting, Dedi left the car because it could not be started again. "The car is abandoned, it can't be started again", said Dedi.

Dedi appealed to local governments to be able to read what would happen. This is related to anticipatory steps to readiness.

"So that you don't stutter during a disaster. Development must be environmentally sound, if the water is very large, anyone cannot hold it, no matter how strong the fort we make. Instead of making a fortress, it is better to take care of mountains, take care of rivers, care for swamps and take care of lakes. the impact is like this, we are no longer able to fight the swift water", explained Dedi.

Apart from Jakarta, the Karawang area, West Java was also hit by flooding. One of them is in the area of Jalan Rangga Gede, RT7/RW29, Gempol, Tanjung Pura District.
