Up 3.78 Percent, UMK In Singkawang To IDR 2.8

Head of the Singkawang City Investment and Manpower Office, Yasmalizar, said that his party had set the Singkawang City Minimum Wage (UMK) for 2024 amounting to Rp2,886,916, and the determination of this UMK based on the Decree of the Governor of West Kalimantan (Kalbar) Number: 1871/NAKERTRAN/2023.

"This decision has been in effect since January 1, 2024," said Yasmalizar, ANTARA, Sunday, January 7.

The Singkawang City UMK which has been set has increased by 3.78 percent from the previous year's UMK.

"With this determination, as of January 1, the Singkawang UMK increased by 3.78 percent or Rp2,886,916 from the previous year's UMK of Rp2,781,898,83," he said.

He said the Singkawang UMK as referred to is the lowest monthly wage received by workers who work 40 hours a week or 7 hours a day for those who work 6 days a week. Then, 8 hours a day for workers who work 5 days a week.

The minimum wage is only valid for workers/laborers with a working period of less than one year for the company concerned.

"Work for workers/laborers with a working period of one year or more is guided by the structure and scale of wages in accordance with Government Regulation Number 51 of 2023 concerning Amendments to Government Regulation Number 36 of 2021 concerning Wages," said Yasmilizar.
